Family seeks to affirm Guinness Record for plate collectionEN

STAMFORD—The Kundin family wants the Guinness Book of World Records to recognize their growing collection of souvenir plates from around the world.

The North Stamford family set a world record with 628 plates in 2012, but their collection has swelled to more than 1,200 plates from more than 120 countries and all 50 states, Irene Goncharova said. Goncharova, her husband, Alexander Kundin, and three children collect the dishes during their travels.

The family is also considering seeking permission to open a small outbuilding on their property to display the plates to the public, Goncharova said.

Groups interested in a presentation can contact Goncharova at ivg@megaspa.com.
